When high-powered book editor Margaret (SANDRA BULLOCK) faces deportation to her native Canada, the quick-thinking exec declares that she’s actually engaged to her unsuspecting put-upon assistant Andrew (RYAN REYNOLDS), who she’s tormented for years. He agrees to participate in the charade, but with a few conditions of his own. The unlikely couple heads to Alaska to meet his quirky family (MARY STEENBURGEN, CRAIG T. NELSON, BETTY WHITE) and the always-in-control city girl finds herself in one comedic fish-out-of-water situation after another. With an impromptu wedding in the works and an immigration official on their tails, Margaret and Andrew reluctantly vow to stick to the plan despite the precarious consequences.

Sandra Bullock's performance rivals some of her best work! A classy rom-com!

MC YAG rocks!
Haven't seen the Proposal, but I watch a heap of DVDs, can you set up a DVD review section?
Keep up the good work team!

The plot of the movie is not new; I have seen the same kind of story and twists in previous rom-coms… The idea of filming in Alaska was great, overall the cinematography was good… both Sandra and Ryan were perfect for their characters, though I would have preferred someone else to play the dad… I felt the stripper’s acting was superb! 4.5 stars

The plot was pretty good as it showed the complexities within the life one lives and would probably love to live… All I would say was the scenes shot in Alaska rocked… I completely relate and did laugh many times…I think the actors were mind blowing and Sandra Bullock was at her level best.

A great film for a Tuesday afternoon. I didn't need to think about it, just sat back and enjoyed it :) Alaska looked stunning, and there was some quirky comedy moments and there was a happy ending (who saw that one coming???) ****

This movie was better than I expected to be honest. Yes, it was another predictable Hollywood romcom but there were some truly funny bits. The boomin' granny made the film!
